Born October 29, 1938, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Russell Browning and Maude Simmons Browning. For over 20 years, Mrs. Jeanette accompanied Mr. Wesley around the world during his active duty with the United States Air Force. Family has always been the most important part of her life, and she loved them all and many others so well. Mrs. Jeanette, known as “Granny Nette”, was the most loving, kind-hearted, selfless lady. She loved the Lord and her family dearly and was a member of Kingwood Baptist Church. Mrs. Jeanette enjoyed serving her community in Berlin, where she and Mr. Wesley owned Davis Grocery, and everyone around knew where you could get the famous delicious chili dogs. Even after retiring from Davis Grocery, she continually baked and cooked as a way to show her love with her mouth-watering red velvet cakes, chicken salad, and the best Sunday lunches. Mrs. Jeanette will always be remembered as a true southern lady who touched many lives. Even though she will be missed greatly, her legacy will live on for generations to come.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Wesley Davis; son, Michael Wesley “Big Mike” Davis; brothers, Horace Browning, Vernon Browning, Chesley Browning, and Ferrel Browning; great-grandson, Bailey Davis.
Survivors include her children, Russ Davis and wife Sherry, Debra Richardson and husband Larry all of Moultrie; grandchildren, Matt Davis and wife Tess, Spenser Richardson and wife Felicia, Sean Richardson and wife Danielle, Savannah Richardson Plymel and husband Matthew, and Wes Davis; great-grandchildren, Mason Davis and special friend Andria, Olivia Davis, Tate Lucas, Tripp Lucas, Tyson Lucas, Evelyn Richardson, Eliza Richardson, Davis Richardson, and Weslynn Plymel; sisters, Rosa Lee Croft, and Mary Evelyn Taylor; sister-in-law, Virginia Bembrey; brother-in-law, Ronald Davis and wife Gayle.
