Jimmy Lee Courtney, Sr., 72, of Norman Park, died Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at his home.
Funeral service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Mr. Jimmy Courtney, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
Casketbearers will be Jonathan Ryan Courtney, Bryce Courtney, Caleb Courtney, Tyler Griner, Jon Michael Bates and Matthew Bates. Honorary casketbearers will be Grady Lamb and Thomas Jones.
Born October 14, 1947, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late John Raiford “Chip” Courtney and Mary Reynolds Courtney. Mr. Courtney was a United States Coast Guard Veteran and was of the Protestant faith. He retired from Southwestern State Hospital as a procurement coordinator. His family remembers how he loved golf, Packer football, old classic oldies music and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Mathis Courtney of Norman Park; children, Kimberly Courtney of Barwick, Jimmy Courtney, Jr. and Sheryl of Thomasville, Mary Bates and Jeffrey of Ocala, FL, Angela Nichols and Allen of Loganville, GA, Ryan Courtney and Mandy of Norman Park; grandchildren, Thomas Jones, Haleigh Courtney, Bryce Courtney, Jon Michael Bates, Krystian Courtney, Caleb Courtney, Matthew Bates, Tyler Griner and Bentley Courtney; great-grandchild, Ella Rae Jones; brothers, Ray Courtney and Brenda, Bobby Courtney and Debbie, Ronnie Courtney.
Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are recommended.
