John Calvin Bryant, 77 of Moultrie, passed away Thursday, August 22nd of 2024 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, August 28th at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill Church Road, Berlin, GA 31722 with Brother Ricky McLaughlin.
John Calvin Bryant was born in Pavo, GA to John Ivey Bryant and Lula Gray Bryant on the 11th of September 1946. He served in the United States Marine Corp where he earned 2 Bronze Stars. He was employed at Wells Aluminum for many years, and he retired from Proctor & Gamble. Johnny’s first love was his wife, Margaret “Faye” Patterson his girls (family) and music. He was inducted into the Georgia Country Music Hall of Fame and was an accomplished musician on the bass guitar. He loved music played on the Fender Telecaster by his eldest brother Jimmy Bryant, who was known as the “Fastest Guitar in the Country”. Two Brothers known as “Hall of Famers” in the same family!
He was proceeded in death by his siblings, Jimmy Bryant, Troy Bryant, Lorene Epps, Mickey Yeager, Clinton Bryant, Faye Pfeffer, Billy Bryant and Julia Perkins.
Survivors include his loving wife, Faye Bryant, Daughters: Malinda Stanaland husband Chester, Melissa Bryant-McDonald and husband Michael. Grandchildren: Danielle Stanaland (Josh Jarvis), Katie Stanaland, MaKayla Carroll and husband Tristan, Ethan McDonald, Jon-Michael McDonald. Great Grandchildren: Tinzley Wood, Willow Wood and Oliver Carroll. Sisters: Janell Laughlin and husband Bob, Connie Casteel and husband Steve. Many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
