Judy Tillman Wilkes

NORMAN PARK, GA – Judy Tillman Wilkes, 79, of Norman Park, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023, surrounded by her family.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 8, 2023, at Sardis Cemetery with the Reverend Andy Cashwell officiating. 

The family will receive friends after the service on Monday at Sardis Cemetery.

Born September 10, 1943, in Colquitt County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Monroe and Viette Truett Taylor and Edward Tillman.   Judy was a great encourager to those around her.  Her life mirrored the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31 with her strength and generosity.  She possessed a servant’s heart in her role as wife, partner, mother, nana, sister, and true friend.  She most importantly valued her family.  She was married to her childhood sweetheart for 60 years and together they raised their two children in a Christian home of love.  Judy worked alongside her husband in supporting his professional career in many business ventures while always putting her children and grandchildren first.  She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Moultrie. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Danny Wilkes; brother, Ronald Tillman; grandson, Michael Thomas.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry T. Wilkes; children, Greg Wilkes and wife Terri, Lisa Griffin and husband Brad; grandchildren, Austin Griffin and special friend Logan Redmond, Taylor Wilkes and fiancé Courtney Alexander; brothers, Wayne Tillman, Travis Tillman and wife Patsy, Joe Taylor and wife Bonnie Jo, Jerry Taylor and wife Sue; brother-in-law, Bobby Wilkes and wife Brenda; sister-in-law, Jeanne Wilkes Newton; a host of special nieces, special nephews, extended family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and staff members of the ICU and PICU units at Colquitt Regional Medical Center for their special care and concerns.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 126 Mt. Olive Church Road, Moultrie, GA. 31788.
