Laura Jeanette Boyd

NORMAN PARK, GA - Laura Jeanette Black Boyd, 69, of Norman Park, passed away on September 30, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Mr. Jason Parten officiating. 

A private interment will be in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.  

Casketbearers will be Jimmy Kersey, Joey Peacock, Cole Welch, Mitchell Parten, Jordan Boyd, and Ty Hightower. 

Mr. June Bug Resendiz will serve as an honorary casketbearer.

Born August 19, 1954, in Tift County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Lee Black and Loreane Jeanette Harper Black.  Mrs. Boyd worked as a seamstress at Riverside for over 32 years before retiring.  She was a very independent and strong-willed lady.  Mrs. Boyd was also a lady who loved her family above all others.  She spent her life taking care of others and passed her caring nature on to her children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest L. Boyd, her brothers, Charlie Black, Dickie Black, and Jackie Black.

Survivors include her children, Lois Parten and Jason, Laura Peacock and Joey, Kim Kersey and Jimmy all of Moultrie, Ernest Boyd, Jr. and April of Alapaha; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; four sisters and one brother.
