Lee T. "Buddy" Baker

MOULTRIE, GA – Lee Thomas “Buddy” Baker, 74, of Moultrie, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, October 30, 2023, at Cobb Funeral Chapel in Moultrie, Georgia with the Reverend Ricky McLaughlin officiating.   A private interment will be held in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-2:45PM Monday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Born November 28, 1948, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late John Thomas Baker and Vera Pauline Flowers Baker.  Mr. Baker was a Veteran, having served his country honorably in the United States Navy.  He loved spending time with his family and watching westerns on TV.  Mr. Baker was a talented guitar player who enjoyed playing music at his church.  He enjoyed many things in life, but his greatest love was for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Mr. Baker would take every opportunity he could to witness to others about the redeeming Love of Jesus.  He was a faithful member of Moultrie Church of God.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Morris David Baker, and brothers-in-law, Dewey Cobb and Hilton Hiers.

Survivors include his sister, Linda Baker Cobb Hiers of Moultrie; sister-in-law, Barbara Sue Deen Baker of Tifton, Georgia; nieces, Cynthia Sue Baker Gillis of Dublin, Georgia, Selena Lynn Baker Johns and husband Joshua of Tifton, Georgia; great-nieces, Sara Faith Johns, Ellie Claire Johns, Gracie Leigh Johns, Jenna Rebecca Kapfer and husband Jon; along with a number of extended family members and friends.
