Lewis “Lou” Stanley Peterson, 76, of Madison FL, gained his wings Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center.
Graveside rites will be held 11:00AM Friday, September 4, 2020 at Weeks Chapel. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are recommended.
Born January 18, 1944 in East Norwalk CT, he was the son of the late Charles Peterson and Elizabeth Kealer Peterson. Mr. Peterson was a truck driver with Manning Trucking and was a member of the Madison Masonic Lodge #11. Lou is remembered for his deep love of his family and was especially proud to be called Papa Lou. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and his dog, Trouble.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Peterson and Clayton Peterson; his best buddy in life, Harold Weeks.
Survivors include his wife, Reba Mae Bullard Peterson of Madison FL; sons, Carl Peterson and Maria, Lewis Peterson, Jr. and Louise, Curt Peterson of all of Poughkeepsie New York ; daughters, Elizabeth Peterson of Tennessee, Melissa McQuaig and Ed of Manor Ga, Shirley Weeks of Quitman; grandchildren, Brittany Brown and Jeremy, Casey Taylor and Pat, Cortney Hall and Daniel, Jeremy Williams and Kristi, Nina Peterson, Michael Peterson and Alex, Birdie Peterson, Adam Peterson and Brittany, Jenny Peterson, Dustin Peterson, Josh Peterson, Bobbi Jo Peterson; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and two great-grandsons in the oven; brother, Carl Peterson and Nancy of Madison FL; numerous nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
