Lisa Stewart Carter

Lisa Stewart Carter, 49, of Doerun, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital North Campus in Albany, GA. 

Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Kimball Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Culpepper and the Rev. Mickey Jacobs officiating.  Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are recommended.

Born November 6, 1971, in Blakely, GA, she was the daughter of Debra Sherrill Matthews Gay of Moultrie and the late Sterling Ray Stewart.  Lisa was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse who lovingly served patients and their families through Phoebe Putney Memorial Home Health in Albany.  She was a wonderfully devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother who always put others first.  She was a great mentor to her friends, and she enjoyed gardening and creating arts and crafts.  She attended Kimball United Methodist Church.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Jerald David Carter; mother and father-in-law, Jerald and Sherry Fowler Carter of Sylvester; sons, Brandon Lee Elrod and wife Amber of Doerun, Stewart David Carter and Ambria Nicole Poole of Doerun, and Austin Reed Carter of Doerun; grandchildren, Rylee Jade Caroll, Logan Dennis Elrod, and Emma Rae Elrod; brother, Sterling Christopher Stewart of Moultrie; sister, Angela Sherrill Stewart of Moultrie; five special friends, Susan Jackson of Camilla, Stephanie Allen and Michelle Tucker of Moultrie, Sabrina Williams of Sylvester, and Dawn Strickland of Doerun.  Lisa was dearly loved by a number of special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
