Louise Felica “Lisa” DeVane Smith, 63, of Thomasville, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021 at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Father Peter Oyenughba officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery in Pavo, GA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Casketbeares will be Dawson Wright, Andrew Wurst, Alex Wurst, Kenneth Sealy, Tristan Sealy and Logan Smith.
Born April 11, 1958 in Valdosta, GA, she was the daughter of Wilmer Monroe “Bob” DeVane of Pavo and the late Maria Allrid DeVane. Mrs. Smith’s career began as a salesclerk at Feinburg and Sons, and she was most recently employed at B&S Concrete. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Lisa loved her family and in her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, knitting, painting and family game night. She always had a good time and lived every moment of life to its fullest while encouraging others to do the same. During holidays, she enjoyed dressing up for the children. Lisa was a joy to be around, and she will be dearly missed by many.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Ann Wurst; grandchild, Pierce Wright.
In addition to her father, survivors include her daughter, Jessica Hegwood Wright and husband Stan of Meigs; sisters, Roberta DeVane Sealy and husband Charles of Moultrie, Lisa Baggett Tillman and husband Jeff of Pavo; stepmother, Bobbie DeVane of Pavo; grandchildren, Andrew Wurst and wife Megan, Alex Wurst, Hunter Mims, Hanna Moser, Dawson Wright and Rachel Wright; three great-grandchildren; nephews, Blu Sealy, Kenneth Sealy, Tristan Sealy and wife Brooke, Logan Smith; niece, Jordan Smith.
