Mabel Sanders McDonald

Mabel Sanders Cannon McDonald, 91, of Moultrie, died Friday, July 1, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Matt Peek officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Jermaine Foster, Ryan McDonald, Justin Smith, Weston Gittens, Harrison Sears and Rick Gittens.

Born August 11, 1930, in Toomsboro, GA, she was the daughter of the late Warren Franklin Sanders and the Dora Lee Collins Sanders.  She was a loving mother and grandmother.  She was a homemaker and drove a school bus for 16 years.  She was a member of First Baptist Church Moultrie.

Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her first husband, Reginald Truett Cannon and her second husband, Rev. Ralph W. McDonald and her five brothers.

Survivors include her children, Regina Cannon Sears and husband Bruce of Mansfield, AR, Cassie Cannon Carr and husband Steve of Kalispell, Montana, Cindy Cannon Gittens, of Moultrie, David McDonald and wife Liz of Phoenix, AZ, Joy McDonald Croy and husband Shannon of Moultrie; eight grandchildren, Hillary Foster and husband Jermaine of Woodstock, GA, Ryan McDonald and wife Lauren of Longwood, FL, Ansley Gittens Smith and husband Justin of Moultrie, Bethany Sears Hinkle of Mansfield, AR, Weston Gittens and wife Tiffany of Jefferson, GA, Harrison Sears and wife Mackenzie of Hackett, AR, Callie and Cason Croy of Moultrie; great-grandchildren, Cannon Elliott, Addison Elliott, Rylee Sears, Joanna Gittens, Meredith Gittens, Faith McDonald, Jarae Foster, and future grandson Ramsey Truett Smith; one great-great grandson, Kye Elliott; brother, Horace Sanders; sister, Mildred Woodard; seven sisters-in-law, Dale Sanders, Shelby Sanders, Sophie Earnest, Marjorie Anderson, Kate Mitchell, Vera McDonald, and Ruby McDonald; special caregiver Temeka Snelling.

A special thank you is extended for the wonderful care that was given by Colquitt Regional Hospice.
