Doerun, GA.-Margaret McCarty McDowell, 84, of Doerun, died Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Legacy Village. Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Dr. David Benton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are recommended. Born March 29, 1936 in Doerun, Ga., she was the daughter of late James Marvin McCarty and Avie Ann Wingate McCarty. She was a homemaker and attended First Baptist Church of Doerun. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph McCarty and sister, Jerry Sims. Survivors include her husband, Emory Gordon McDowell; one son, Marvin Emory McDowell of Doerun; brother, Marvin Lamar McCarty and wife Joyce of Decatur, TN; grandchildren, Marvin Andrew McDowell of Autreyville and Callie Ann Bell of Bay; great-grandchildren Jake Andrew Bell, Max Thomas Bell, Ellie Gail Bell and Chloe Jean Adams.
