Martha Louise Kennedy

DOERUN, GA – Martha Louise Hathcock Kennedy, 92, of Doerun, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023, at Archbold Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Doerun with Dr. David Benton officiating.    Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 PM Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Doerun.

Casketbearers will be Jason Shirah, Lance Shirah, Brad Wheeler, William Taylor, Richie Turner, Ken Stam, and Eric Hall.

Born February 5, 1931, in Clearwater, FL, she was the daughter of the late Marion Douglas Hathcock and Essie O’Neal Hathcock.  Mrs. Kennedy was very active before her health declined.  She enjoyed working and meeting people in her career as a Medical Coding Clerk.  Mrs. Kennedy loved growing flowers and working in her yard as well as going to the beach every chance she got.  She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Doerun.   Mrs. Kennedy was a humble, loving, and true lady who loved her Lord and her family.  She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harris Lincoln Kennedy; her son-in-law, Ray Shirah; and her brother, Earl Hathcock.

Survivors include her children, Angie Kennedy Shirah, Wally Douglas Kennedy and Teddy Harris Kennedy; her grandchildren, Jason Shirah and wife Stephanie and Lance Douglas Shirah; along with a number of extended family members and friends.
