Mary Alice Griner

Mary Alice Connell Griner, 76, of Moultrie, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022, at her home.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, March 13, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church in Moultrie with Rev. Dr. Bradley Walker officiating.    The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Born June 22, 1945, in Nashville, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Flem J. Connell and Mary Jane Harrell Connell.  Mrs. Griner retired from the USPS.  She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and started the backpack food program for the church.    Mrs. Griner loved her family dearly and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild.   She enjoyed going to the beach, playing cards with her friends, going off with her Cornerstone group and eating Mexican food.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Griner; son, Mitch Britt.

Survivors include her daughter, Julie Harvey and husband Todd of Early Branch, SC; daughter-in-law, Joanne M. Britt of Shiloh, GA; grandchildren, Matthew Wise and wife Cady, Bryce Britt, Beau Britt; great-grandchild, Owen Wise; brother, Jack Connell and wife Tina of Mt. Pleasant, SC.
