MOULTRIE, GA - Mrs. Mary Tucker Murphy, 92, of Moultrie, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Midway Free Will Baptist Church with the Reverend Randy Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the Midway Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Jamie Murphy, Curt Riggins, Shane Powell, Bryan Bruner, Matthew Palmer, Mason Murphy, Walter Murphy, Jr. and William Forrester.

Born October 3, 1932, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Wiley Franklin Tucker and Willie Mae Sellers Tucker. Mrs. Murphy was a living example of a Proverbs 31 woman who loved and cared for her family. She never met a stranger and was well known for her hospitality to others. Mrs. Murphy was a devoted servant of her Savior Jesus Christ and worked diligently to be His hands and feet in this world. She showed her compassion for others by caring for 3 orphans who would come stay with her during the summer months. Mrs. Murphy was the anchor of her family and taught them to love God above all. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt to her family. Mrs. Murphy was a faithful member of Midway Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years, Charles Kenneth Murphy; siblings, Hilda Tucker, Junior Tucker, Calvin Tucker, and Dorothy Dickens.

Survivors include her children, Jimmy Murphy and wife Charlotte, Connie Lacey and husband Wayne, Deborah Murphy and special dog Bubbles, Glenn Murphy, and Michael Murphy and wife Kim; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Gene Tucker; sisters, Marlene Presley, Kay Crain, and Linda Gay, and special sister-in-law, Virginia Tucker; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

For those desiring, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Midway Freewill Baptist Church, 287 Lower Meigs Rd, Moultrie, GA 31768.

Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
