IMOULTRIE, GA – Master Gunnery Sergeant Charles Edwin Berry, Sr. USMC (Ret), 91, of Moultrie, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Legacy Village at Park Regency.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Casketbearers will be Shaun Berry, Preston Berry, Corporal Troy Berry USMC, Kody Berry and Dake Berry.
Born September 29, 1933, in Stockbridge, Georgia, he was the son of the late C.L. Berry and Fannie Kate Sims Berry. Mr. Charles faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps and retired as a Master Gunnery Sergeant. After fulfilling his time in the military, he continued to serve his country in the United States Postal Service and retired after 21 dedicated years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Moultrie. Mr. Charles was a civic-minded person who served the community by being members of the Masonic Lodge and the Lion’s Club. He loved his family and friends and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn Massey Berry.
Survivors include his sons, Eddie Berry and wife Kathy, Michael Berry and wife Sherri; grandchildren, Michael Berry, Shaun Berry and wife Blanche, Preston Berry and wife Kristen, Cpl. Troy Berry USMC, Kody Berry, Dake Berry and wife Ally and Kallie Berry; great grandchildren, Javen Whetstone, Jaxen Berry, Lanie Berry and Brock Berry; several other extended family members and friends.
