Mavis Louise Holton Hanna

December 22, 1930 — February 25, 2021

Mavis Louise Holton Hanna, 90, of Moultrie, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Legacy Village at Park Regency in Moultrie, GA.

          Due to the Covid-19 pandemic no public services have been planned at this time.

​          Born December 22, 1930, in Berlin, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Franklin Holton and Emma Lee Seay Holton. She was the last surviving child of John and Emma’s twelve children.  She retired as an accountant from Dixie Lime & Stone Company. Mrs. Hanna was a faithful member of Tyson United Methodist Church. She served in many capacities at Tyson UMC including Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher, Board of Trustees and for many years as Treasurer. Along with service to her church she also enjoyed growing roses and gardening at her home on Woodmen Road. She shared roses from her garden with many friends, loved ones, and strangers alike. She even provided flowers for many services at church and other events. 

           In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George R. Hanna and son, Willard Paul Dalton, Jr. (Billy).

Survivors include her sons, Alan Dalton of Moultrie and Tony Dalton with wife Caryn in Marysville, OH. She was also blessed with loving grandchildren, Paul S. “Packy” Dalton and wife Stacy of Orlando, FL, Maria Burton Filbert and husband Paul of Thompson Station, TN, Chelsey Wamack McFaddin and husband Nick of Littleton, CO, Emma Lita Dalton, and Seth Holton Dalton of Marysville, OH. In addition, she had five great-grandchildren.
          In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation at act.alz.org. Contributions can also be made to the Hospice organization that served her lovingly in her final years of her life to Kindred Hospice at 4332 East Shotwell St., Bainbridge GA, 39819
