Melinda Faye Kent

IVEY, GA- Melinda Faye Kent, 53, of Ivey, Georgia, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025. 

Her family will hold a Memorial Service at 2 PM Friday, January 24, 2025 at 132 Prestley Place, Norman Park, Ga 31771. 

Born August 1, 1971, in Hahira, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late James Herman Kent and Lawanna Faye Perkins Kent. Mrs. Melinda worked in Retail Sales Management at several companies in her career. She was a humble, strong-willed, caring lady with a heart of gold and always ready to lend a helping hand. Mrs. Melinda loved her family dearly and they will always remember as the life of the party anywhere she was at. She was a Christian who tried to live a life of service to others. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her fiancé, Jason Searcy. 

Survivors include her children, James Tyler Cobb, Dillion Colby Roberts, Kaitlyn Shyanne Roberts; grandchildren, Madison Nicole Roberts, Emma Grace Roberts, Blayden Lee Hunt, Jaxon Toma Hunt, James Matthew Cobb, Hunter Cobb; siblings, Jeffery Herndon and wife Tami, Lakeitha Bruner, Ivalisa Hood-Bryant; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends. 

Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
