Jewell Wynell “Nell” Evans Burley McMillan, age 94, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 2 PM at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jeffery Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Sardis Cemetery. Mrs. Nell was born in Brooks County November 21, 1928 the daughter of the late Purvin Evans and Bessie Hopper Evans. She was a packer at Bridgeport Brass Manufacturing Company and was of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed working in the yard, watching her flowers grow, mowing her grass and feeding the birds. She is preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband and father of her children George Burley, 2nd husband Dewey McMillan; son Francis Burley; two grandsons Bill Burley, Michael Burley; great grandson Devin Braswell; brothers Elton Evans, Earl Evans, Vernon Evans, Marvin Evans, Bobby Evans and Benny Evans; sisters Doris Curles and Betty Divine. She is survived by her son Larry W. Burley and wife Joyce of Moultrie; grandchildren David Burley, Bryan Burley, Tina Burley Azar and husband Courtney and Gina Burley Crosby and husband Cleve.
