Olan Lamar "Pete" Perkins

MOULTRIE, GA – Olan Lamar “Pete” Perkins, 86, of Moultrie, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at his home. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Funston Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, July 15, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Chapel. 

Casketbearers will be Tommy Williams, Clinton Proctor, and Ricky Perkins, Chris Proctor. 

Born March 29, 1938, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late Lucy Edward Perkins and Frank Perkins. Mr. Pete was the owner/operator of Perkins Construction and was of the Baptist faith. He was a talented master builder who nearly worked on every house in Colquitt County. Mr. Pete enjoyed doing magic tricks and playing with brainteasers. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and feeding the fish. Mr. Pete liked to collect old tractors and implements. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Karen Williams Perkins; daughter, Karen Marie Perkins Moore; sisters, Jeanette Perkins, Shirley Spomer. 

Survivors include his children, Danny Ray Perkins and Ricky Lee Perkins and wife Karen; bonus son, Chris Proctor; grandchildren, Nathaniel Perkins, Clinton Proctor and wife Morgan; great-granddaughter, Kylah Proctor; several extended family members and friends. 

Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
