Oleda Stone Edge

DOERUN, GA – Alma Oleda Stone Edge, 91, of Doerun, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Doerun with Dr. David Benton officiating.   Interment will follow in Doerun Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 AM Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Doerun.

Casketbearers will be Brent Wingate, Michael Edge, Austin Edge, Billy Baird, and Mack Washington.

Born March 12, 1932, in Tift County Georgia, she was the daughter of the late James Arthur Stone and Sara Flonnie Childers Stone.  Mrs. Oleda was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Doerun.  She loved listening to the radio, especially Sunday morning church services, and supporting her Atlanta Braves and Falcons sports teams.  Mrs. Oleda enjoyed family gatherings and cherished the time she spent with loved ones.   She was a lady of many talents including working side by side in the hog business with her beloved husband. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lamar Edge; son, Jimmy Lamar Edge; siblings, Wylene Webb, Dessie Carpenter, Cecil Stone, J.S. Stone, and Arlen Stone.

Survivors include her children, Linda Carol Ross, Larry Gene Edge both of Doerun; grandchildren, Austin Edge and wife Samantha, Michael Edge and wife Kayla, Amber Ross Jones and husband Mason, Brent Wingate and wife Julie, Tammy Lott, Chris Edge and wife Elisha, and Adam Edge; great-grandchildren, Waylon Edge, Ellie Edge, Kace Edge, Kenna Edge, Ella Jones, Emma Jones, Callie Jones, Kevin Wingate, Gage Wingate, Tyler Lott, and Dylan Lott; great-great-grandchildren, Dallas Wingate, and Hazel Wingate; siblings, Inez Weldon, Faye Haynes, Raiford Stone and wife Mary Jo, Randall Stone and wife Brenda.
