MOULTRIE, GA.- Oliver James Walden, 75, of Moultrie, died Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends after the service. Born January 23, 1947, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Hardy M. Walden and Ora Tillman Walden. Mr. Walden will be remembered by his family and friends as a man who was ALWAYS ready to enjoy a good time, especially water skiing and fishing. He enjoyed introducing himself to others as “OJ, the Juice from the Woods”. Mr. Walden loved his family dearly and considered them his greatest accomplishment in life. He was a US Army Veteran who received a Purple Heart while serving his country honorably during the Vietnam War. Mr. Walden was a member of China Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Herman Walden. Survivors include his sons, Lance Walden and special friend, Brenda McDonald and Zane Walden and wife Angie, all of Moultrie; grandchildren, Matthew Walden and wife Melissa, Michael Walden and wife Ashley, Kolby Walden, and Karley Walden; great-grandchildren, Samuel Walden and Nash Walden; sister, Margaret Henson and husband Jim of Valdosta; niece, Michelle Henson Gardner; and great-niece Anna Kathryn Gardner.
