Peggy Hamilton Welborn

Peggy Hamilton Welborn, 74, of Moultrie, passed away on June 4, 2022, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Reverend Randall Kennedy officiating.  Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Her grandsons will serve as casketbearers. 

Born October 11, 1947, in Adel, GA, she was the daughter of the late Marcus Hamilton and Beatrice Kilgore Hamilton.  Mrs. Welborn graduated from Moultrie High School and Valdosta State College.  She retired from the Georgia State Department of Corrections as a GED teacher.  She made many friends with her co-workers and pupils.  She had a keen sense of humor and a ready laugh.  She loved to garden and was a fantastic cook.  Her 14-layer chocolate cakes are well remembered.  She was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church of Moultrie. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Craig Lynn.

Survivors include her husband, Andy Welborn; daughters, Lisa Renee Hafley and husband Chuck, Beth Baker and husband Mike, Melissa Stanley and husband Stan; son, Will Welborn; grandchildren, Valarie Oscar and Marcus Lynn, Britt Lowie and wife Abigail, Garrett Baker, Andrew Baker and wife Sara, Alec Stanley and wife Hali, Jack Stanley, Ruffin Stanley and wife Emily, Jordan Karchella, Molly Welborn, Aydan Welborn, Tyce Welborn; sister, Barbara Saturday Johnston and husband Bill; and a large extended family.
