Randall Lairsey, 96, of Moultrie, died Monday, November 9, 2020, at his home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mark Jordan and the Rev. Hershel Smith officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are recommended. Casketbearers will be grandsons: Greg Causey, Marlon Causey, Jason Lairsey, David G. Lairsey, Jr., Jonathan Wood, and Justin Lairsey. The deacons of Riverside Holiness Church along with his grandchildren will serve as honorary casketbearers. Born March 1, 1924 in Blackshear, Georgia, he was the son of the late Mack Norman Lairsey and Fannie Lou McGee Lairsey. Mr. Lairsey was a United States World War II Army Veteran, having received the distinguished Purple Heart and Bronze Star awards. He retired from Harrell Auto Electric after 40 plus years as a mechanic and shop manager. He never ceased to tinker and amaze family with tenacity to continue what he loved doing. He was a member of Riverside Holiness Church where he served as a deacon for 48 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Louise Owens Lairsey; granddaughter, Heather LeAnn Lairsey; great-great granddaughter, Samantha Lynn Gamble; brothers, Raymond Lairsey, Sammy Lairsey, Willie Lairsey, Charlie Lairsey, Robert Lairsey; and sisters, Lola Lairsey, Bessie Hunter. Survivors include his sons, Larry L. Lairsey and wife Judy of Moultrie, David G. Lairsey and wife Paulette of Tifton, Rev. Keith Lairsey and wife Shalynn of Jesup; daughters, Dorothy Wynelle Roy of Moultrie, Brenda Gail Gray and husband Bill of Sylvester, Kay Wood and husband Johnny of Moultrie; 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren and other family members.
