Pastor Jason Carl Morgan of Ochlocknee, Georgia, age 48, passed away from a brief illness on Saturday, November 21, 2020 in Tallahassee, Florida. Born in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of Mildred Gibbs Morgan of Moultrie and the late David Warren Morgan, Sr. He was a 1991 graduate of Colquitt County High School, a 1999 graduate of Thomas University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Performance and was pursuing a Master of Divinity Degree with a Major in Biblical and Theological Studies with Languages from Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary. He attended seminary in 1999 at Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Jason was the pastor at Ochlocknee Baptist Church. He was the president of the Magnolia Civitan Club in Moultrie, Georgia. He enjoyed spending time with his family and most of all, teaching and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jason believed every Christian’s two-fold purpose was to bring honor and glory to God and to further His kingdom. His mission on earth was to be a tool to lead others to Christ and spread the Word of God to others, encouraging them to “come as you are!”. He is survived by his wife, Laura Lee Morgan, his children, Chasen Morgan, Charleston Morgan and Sebastian Morgan; his step-children, Christian Phillippi, Keilee Phillippi and Chandler Phillippi; his grandson, Atticus Rivera; his mother Mildred Gibbs Morgan, his brother David Morgan, Jr. (Viviana), and his brother-in-law, Douglas Lott. He was preceded by his father, David Warren Morgan, Sr., his brother Michael Morgan and his sister, Nancy Morgan Lott. The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. at Ochlocknee Baptist Church. The visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the service.
