Reverend Lester Glass

Reverend Walter Lester Glass, 83, of Moultrie, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

A private funeral service will be held at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Randall Kennedy officiating.   Interment will be in Pinecrest Memory Gardens.

Born January 30, 1938, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of late Noel Elton Glass and Barbara Boyd Glass.  Lester retired from the Colquitt County Correctional Office and was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church.  He was an ordained Baptist Minister who spread the Gospel at Union Hill Baptist Church in Meigs, Bethany Baptist Church in Hazelhurst, Bethlem Baptist Church in Cordele, Southside Baptist Church and Hempstead Baptist Church both in Moultrie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Abby Glass May, Eva Mae Brown; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy Glass and Christine, Jack Glass and Elizabeth, Mahue Glass and Marie, and Ulmer Glass and Eloise; sister-in-law, Carolyn Glass.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mavis Frances Hires Glass of Moultrie; son, Daniel L. Glass of Moultrie; brothers, Paul Glass of Moultrie, Jimmy Glass and wife Elizabeth of Tennessee.
