Reverend Ralph Harrell

November 7, 1946 — February 26, 2020

Reverend Ralph Thomas Harrell, 73, of Moultrie, died Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

          Funeral service will be held 2:00PM Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Rose Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Shiver and the Rev. Wayne Smith officiating.   Interment, with military honors, will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. 

          The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

          Casketbearers will be Justin Carroll, Lane Carroll, Taylor Newsome, Cole Summerlin, Benjamin Hegwood, Anderson Glenn, Lawrence Glenn and Thomas Griffin.

          Born November 7, 1946 in Bainbridge, he was the son of the late William Thomas Harrell and Lila Mae Smith Harrell.  Rev. Harrell was a United States Vietnam Air Force Veteran and retired from the Post Office with 35 years of service.  He was a minister at Rose Hill Baptist Church where he loved preaching God’s word and loved his church family.   His family remembers how he was a jokester, loved spending time with his family, enjoyed the mountains, camping and mowing his grass. 

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Carolyn Parten, June Harrell and Betty Jean Russell; brother, J.W. Harrell.

          Survivors include his wife, Joyce Payne Harrell; daughter, Tina Knight and Stanley Bass of Moultrie; son, Brad Harrell of Moultrie; grandchildren, Tanna Knight and Thomas Harrell; sisters, Mildred Cross of Bainbridge, GA, Joyce Creel and James, Becky Morris and Lee all of Meigs; brothers, Jackie Harrell of Doerun, GA, Cecil Harrell and Peggy of Moultrie, Ray Harrell and Sue of Leesburg, GA.; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
