Moultrie, GA – Robert Lee Stephenson, affectionately known as G-Pa, 83, of Moultrie, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2025, while surrounded by his family at Cobblestone Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Moultrie, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend Stanley Norman and the Reverend Blaine Walden officiating. Interment will be held at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 PM on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Pine Grove Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be Grayson Gandy, Hayden Gandy, Layton Stephenson, Ray Duran, James Harrell and Pat Sullivan.
Born on September 4, 1941, in Colquitt County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Robert Daniel Stephenson and Sara Yates Stephenson. Mr. Robert was a dedicated Colquitt County farmer who enjoyed working his fields. He was a humble, caring husband, father and G-Pa, who loved the Lord, his family, church family and friends.
A true kind and caring man, he was always so concerned not only about his family, but also his friends and anybody else he met. No matter who he encountered, he always made sure to share the Gospel, as he was genuinely concerned with their salvation.
In his spare time, he enjoyed going hunting with dogs, fishing, eating and fellowship with family and friends. Mr. Robert’s kindness towards others will always be remembered by everyone who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Stephenson Clayton; sisters, Sue Carol Duran, Norma Harrell and Reba Stanford.
Survivors include his wife, Melba Stephenson; sons, Derric Stephenson and wife, Paula, Rodney Stephenson; grandchildren, Layton Stephenson and wife, Suzanne, Grayson Gandy, Hayden Gandy and Ryan Hall; sister, Linda Sullivan; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church, 4103 Bay Rockyford Road, Moultrie, Georgia 31768.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
