Ronald "Stump" Gale Groves

Ronald Gale “Stump” Groves, 62, of Moultrie, died Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

          Funeral service will be held 2:00PM Monday, March 2, 2020 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Buford Groves, Rev. Eddie Dees and the Rev. Shannon Partain officiating.  Interment will follow in Big Creek Cemetery.

          The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

          Casketbearers will be Robert Partain, Jr., Tyler Blount, Chris Partain, Larry Lawrence and John Blount.  Honorary casketbearers will be Kanen Partain, Jessie Partain and David Law.

          Born August 6, 1957 in Jasper, FL, he was the son of the late Gary Grady Groves and Lois Christine Hall Groves.  Mr. Groves was a member of the Christian Crusade Church.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Groves.

          Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Welch Groves of Moultrie; children, Cole Grove of Valdosta, Chelsea Grove, Austin Welch and Debra, Linda Blount, Tyler Blount all of Moultrie; grandchildren, Arial Welch, Madison Espinosa, Waylon Groves and Cameron Espinosa; brothers and sisters, Betty Partain of Moultrie, Buford Groves and Sandra, Robbie Groves and Becky, Barbara Peppers and Larry, Jeanette Long, Gary Groves, Alton Bozeman and Donna, Charlie Bozeman, Andrew Groves all of Thomasville; special nephew, David Groves of Thomasville.
