MOULTRIE, GA – Rubye Lee Tucker Blackman, 90, of Moultrie, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 13, 2025, in Westview Cemetery with the Reverend Paul Milligan officiating. The family will greet friends after the service at Westview Cemetery.
Born January 29, 1934, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Ancil Perry Tucker and Addie Hattie Bell Atkinson Tucker. Mrs. Rubye was the owner/operator of Port Salerno Grocery in Port Salerno, Florida, True Value Hardware Store in Okeechobee, Florida and was a former cashier at the local Bar-B-Que Pit and Western Sizzlin. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Mrs. Rubye was fiercely independent and enjoyed living life to its fullest. She was a member of Lakeside Assembly of God Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Elbert “Bucky” C. Blackman, III, Craig Blackman; grandson, Christopher Blackman; siblings, Claude Tucker, Lester Tucker, Betty Tucker, Alma Rutherford, Erline Thomas, Mildred Bragg and Frank Tucker.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Davis; grandchildren, Dickie, Crystal, Bucky, Lynslee, and Craig; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and her beloved fur baby, Max; along with other family members and friends.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
