Sara Frances Carrell Childers

MOULTRIE, GA- Sara Frances Carrell Childers, 75, of Moultrie, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Archbold Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Morrison Baptist Church 13527 Moultrie Highway, Barney, Ga. 31625 with the Reverend Josh Purvis officiating. 

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Born October 2, 1946, in Corpus Christi, Texas, she was the daughter of the late I.D. Carrell and Sarah White Carrell.  Mrs. Childers retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice office as the office clerk and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.  She was a kind, loving lady who adored her family and was friendly to everyone she met.  Family and friends will always remember her as having a calm nature and excellent communicator.  Mrs. Childers enjoyed traveling and watching tv. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Asa Carrell and Tommy Carrell.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Wilbur Lynn Childers of Moultrie; son, Ted Earnest Childers of Cypress, TX; stepdaughter, Kim Nguyen of Los Angeles, CA; brothers, James Carrell, Ira Carrell both of Corpus Christi, TX; several extended family members and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church Building Fund, and or Morrison Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
