Shirley Knight Brinson

NORMAN PARK, GA – Shirley Elizabeth Knight Brinson, 77, of Norman Park, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at her home.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens with Reverend Ricky McLaughlin officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. 

Born April 17, 1947, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Columbus John “CJ” Knight and Mertice Griffin Knight. Mrs. Shirley worked at Bridge Port Brass for a few years before devoting her life to caring for her family. She loved her family dearly and spent many years following her husband on numerous hunting and fishing trips. Mrs. Shirley once managed to shoot a huge 11-point deer while Mr. Pete was sitting right beside her. She enjoyed working in the yard and keeping her home beautiful. Mrs. Shirley loved Jesus and enjoyed attending church when she was able. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her faithful husband of 59 years, Earnest “Pete” Brinson; her daughter, Michelle Brinson Winn; granddaughter, Josie Olliff; brothers, Jimmy Knight and wife JoAnne and Ronnie Knight and wife Gail; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
