MOULTRIE, GA – Thomas Eugene Fender, 67, of Moultrie, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Mark Herrington officiating.
The family will greet friends after the service at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Born July 17, 1955, in Berrien County, Georgia, he was the son of the late J.C. Pope and Nell Fender Pope. Mr. Fender was a carpenter at Cornerstone Construction and was of the Baptist faith. He was a former player for the Moultrie Packer only semi-pro football team. Mr. Fender was a master carpenter, he was able to build anything you would like by just showing him a photo. He loved his family dearly especially his grandchildren and enjoyed attending family gatherings. Mr. Fender liked being outdoors, where he would go fishing, hunting, and camping.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Diane Cooper, Rolanda Pope; brother-in-law, Kermit Sizemore.
Survivors include his children, Lane Smith and husband Monty of Poland, GA, Zach Fender of Pavo; grandchildren, Jack Coker, Makalah Smith, Keaton Smith; siblings, Sissy Johnson and Tom of Moultrie, Charlotte Sizemore of Funston, Joey Pope and Kathy, Jerome Pope all of Moultrie; special friends, Darrell King, Tom Cauley; numerous other family members and friends.
