MOULTRIE, GA. Vera Williams Vick, 78, of Moultrie, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie, GA.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with her brother Dale Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM on Sunday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Born March 21,1945 in Pavo, she was the daughter of the late John David Williams and Eppie Crews Williams. She spent her early adult years as a homemaker and raising children. She was involved in Berlin Baptist Church and the Berlin Woman’s Club. She was the ultimate room mother at Berlin Elementary School and served as President of the PTA more than once. Later, Vera attended Moultrie Technical College and after graduation, began her career at Riverside Manufacturing Company in Human Resources. After her retirement on April 30, 2008, she enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, and going to the beach with her husband. Her hobbies included putting together puzzles, arts and crafts and decorating for every holiday.
She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law, James Williams and Inez, Julian Williams and Ernestine, John Williams and Ouida, Arnold Williams and Pat, Charles Williams and Pearlie, Ben Williams and Juanita, Doug Williams and brother-in-law George Mashburn.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Vick, her daughter, Renee Gay and husband Ben of Moultrie, her son, David Alderman and Brenda of Berlin, and her step-daughter, Janna Vick of St. Petersburg, FL. Grandchildren, Kayla Gay and Chris, Robin Byington and Lazaro Monzon, Regan Young and Brian, Blake Byington and Natalie, Peyton Alderman, Zachary Tucker, and Brittany Casteloes and Keith. Great-grandchildren JonDavid Gay, Kimber Gay, Lacey Byington, Lina Byington, Jade Casteloes and Brodi Casteloes. Two brothers, Roy Williams and Kay, Dale Williams and Barbara all of Berlin; a sister, Ruthie Mashburn of Thomasville, a sister-in-law, Jan Boley and Gary of Greenville, SC. She had many very special nieces and nephews.

The family may be contacted at the home of Ben and Renee Gay, 68 Cobblestone Blvd. SE, Moultrie, GA 31788. The family will be gathered on Saturday at the Gay’s home for anyone who would like to visit.
