Verna Fielden Moon, a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2024 in Moultrie, GA. Born on July 9, 1931, in Detroit, MI, Verna lived a life that left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Throughout her career, Verna contributed her talents as a secretary for the Colquitt County School System and several insurance companies, showcasing her dedication and strong work ethic. Beyond her professional life, she was an active member of her community, participating in the Cornerstone Church Group, the Moultrie Service League, the Pilot Club, and was a long-term member of the First Presbyterian Church of Moultrie in which she was a part of the Presbyterian Women of the Church. Verna was known for her exceptional cooking skills, as well as her thoughtful habit of writing cards to friends and family.

As the matriarch of her family, Verna's love and devotion were evident in every aspect of her life. She is survived by her loving children, Cindy Roberts and husband Rusty of Marietta, Grier Moon and wife Cathy of Acworth, Mary Davis and Bill Martin of Moultrie, and Jaci Fleming and husband Kent of Snellville. The joy she brought into the world continues through her grandchildren and their spouses: Bobby Chappell (Tiffany), Abbey Frady (Jon), Kevin Roberts (Eli), Jamie Farist (Josh), Chrissy Davis, Josh Davis (Brandi), Patrick Davis, Caleb Davis (Haley), Glenn Fleming, and Grace Fleming. Verna also cherished her sister, Margaret Natelli, and her brother, William Fielden, and wife Linda, along with her seventeen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Verna is predeceased by her parents, James Monroe Fielden Sr. and Lucille Evelyn (Pleger) Fielden, her husband Glenn D. Moon Jr., her grandchild Christina Roberts, and her brothers Jim Fielden and Lark Fielden.

One of Verna's proudest accomplishments was her passion for travel, having visited all fifty states, which reflects her adventurous spirit and zest for life.

Her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. A visitation will be held on August 24, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, both taking place at Cobb Funeral Chapel, located at 2441 Camilla Hwy, Moultrie, GA 31768. Verna Lee Moon will be missed dearly, but her memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know her.
