Wayne Malone Dawson

Wayne Malone Dawson, 76, of Moultrie passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Pruitt Health-Magnolia Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 11, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Charles Blanton and the Reverend Randy Jackson officiating.  Interment will be in Clements Bridge Cemetery in Mitchell County.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Cobb Funeral Chapel.  

Born November 1, 1945, in Lakeland, Florida, he was the son of the late Clarence Malone Dawson and Corine Bundy Dawson.   Mr. Dawson retired from Estees Trucking Company as a diesel mechanic and was a member of the Spring Hill Freewill Baptist Church.    He loved his family and enjoyed hunting, playing music, and drinking his favorite coffee.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Anne Snelson Dawson, wife, Brenda Harris Dawson; daughter, Emily Laura Dawson; brother, Earl Dawson; sister, Ruth Campbell; brothers-in-law, Tony Hathcock, Billy Daniel.  

Survivors include his children, Alice Rooks and Kevin of Moultrie, Matt Dawson and Amanda of Camilla, Lincoln Dawson and Melissa of Ochlocknee; grandchildren, Garrett Rooks, Paxton Rooks, Maci Dawson, Brooks Dawson, Luke Dawson, Hannah Dawson; stepchildren, Rachel Allegood and Ken, Melissa Whiddon and Terry; sisters, Barbara Hathcock, Dorothy Daniel, Linda Blaylock Hope.
