MOULTRIE, GA- William Harrison Moore, also known as “B”, 72, of Moultrie, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Matt Peek and Reverend Brian Blackburn officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Casketbearers will be Owen Blank, Brian McMillan, Cole Kelly, and Tim Falvai.
Born January 11, 1952, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late Russell Lamar Moore and Julia Vaden Patterson Moore. Mr. Moore graduated from Moultrie High School in 1970. He also graduated from University of Georgia with a degree in Agronomy in 1975. Mr. Moore retired from Georgia Department of Agriculture as a Pesticide Field Agent. After retirement, he dedicated his life to being a great Papa. He particularly enjoyed making vanilla ice cream with his first grandson, Harrison.
Mr. Moore enjoyed playing in several bands beginning in 1965. The three primary bands were Little B & the Insects, Paper Sun, and Rocky Ridge Band. He also loved to create furniture.
Mr. Moore was a member of First Baptist Church of Moultrie. He was a longtime teacher of the Babies Sunday School class. He loved his church family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Faye and Roger Benton.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 32 years, (the most wonderful woman he had ever known), Valerie Benton Moore of Moultrie; children, Jessica Moore Falvai and husband Tim of Smyrna, GA, Julia Moore McMillan and husband Brian of Moultrie, Katherine Moore Kelly and husband Cole of Moultrie; grandchildren, Harrison D. McMillan, Liza M. McMillan, and Cade R. Kelly; siblings, Russ Moore and wife Gretchen, Robert Moore and wife Bobbie Jo, Mary Ann Blank and husband Bobby; brother-in-law, Danny Benton and wife Alicia; numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and other extended family members and friends.
