William “Bill” Leroy Rogers, Jr., 77, of Moultrie, passed away Friday, March 5, 2021 at his home.
A graveside memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ron Shiver officiating. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are recommended.
The family will receive friends after the service at the gravesite.
Born September 21, 1943, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late William Leroy Rogers, Sr. and Dorothy Inez Connel Rogers. He retired from the Federal Government as a master plumber and was a faithful long-time active member of Funston Baptist Church. Mr. Bill loved fishing, cars, coin and die cast car collecting, was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed working in the yards and was a great mechanic. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather who loved people and knew no stranger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Frederick Scott Rogers.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Peggy Whitt Rogers of Moultrie; daughter, Doris Cynthia Rogers Crocker of Moultrie; grandchildren, Lance William Crocker, Megan Nichole Crocker; great-great-grandchildren, Shialynd Marie Crocker, Cullen James Crocker; brothers and sisters, Harold Eugene Rogers and wife Joan of Gonzales, LA, Doris Inez Carmichael of Alabama, Gwendolyn Rogers Croft and husband Jerry of Moultrie, Ray Rogers and wife Beverly of Maurepas, LA, Jerry Rogers and wife Sandra of Moultrie; special aunts and uncle, Carolyn and Jimmy Rogers ,Johnnie Thames all of Clebourn, TX; beloved pets, Toby, Scooter and Scout.
