Wynton Striplin

MOULTRIE, GA- Charles Wynton Striplin, 85, of Moultrie, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, at Colquitt Regional Senior Care and Rehabilitation. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Stephen Massey officiating.    Interment will be in Deep Bottom Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00PM-2:45PM Thursday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Born December 14, 1937, in Colquitt County Georgia, he was the son of the late Russell Lafayette Striplin and Berline Cooper Striplin.   Mr. Wynton retired from Verizon as a cable splicer and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.   He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who loved his family dearly.  Mr. Wynton was a hard worker and enjoyed working in his yard and watching old westerns.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Florence Yarbrough Striplin; son, Toney Dewayne Striplin.

Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Ann Ricks of Moultrie, GA; grandchildren, Alaina Elizabeth Ricks of Albany, GA, Kayla Renee Giddens and Justin of Ashburn, GA; great-grandchild, Brynn Elizabeth Ricks; siblings, Glenda Schanbacher and John of Tallahassee, FL, Judy Isreal and Danny of Raleigh, NC; special friend, Norma Jean Daniel of Pavo, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.

The family is grateful for the thoughtful prayers of the community, but request that anyone who may wish to bring food to the family, please send flowers instead.
