MOULTRIE, GA- Elizabeth Butler Smith, 100, of Moultrie, passed away Monday, November 21, 2022, at Legacy Village at Park Regency.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Ron Shiver officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10-10:45AM Saturday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as casketbearers, Mike Smith, Dalton Smith, Matthew Ray, Zane Walden, Lance Walden, Kolby Walden, Matthew Walden, Michael Walden, Scott Smith, Nathan Smith, Sawyer Smith, Jason Smith, Clay Smith, and Caleb Smith.
Born January 27, 1922, in Colquitt County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Ed Butler and Ida Mae Lee Butler. Mrs. Smith retired in 1988 from Riverside Manufacturing Company as a supervisor and was a member of Kingwood Baptist Church. She loved her family, her church, and enjoyed spending time with them. Mrs. Smith sewed dresses and clothes for her family. She was a great cook and enjoyed Sunday dinners.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Silas Smith; son, Ronnie Smith; daughter, Peggy Miller; siblings, James Butler, Jimmy Butler, Toby Butler, Barnard Butler, Frances Peterman and Dorothy Mae Hackle.
Survivors include her son, Jerry Smith and Barbara of Moultrie; daughter in law, Marcia Smith of Valdosta; grandchildren, Sherry Ray and Dwight, Mike Smith and Sharon, Scott Smith and Jennifer, Lance Walden, Clay Smith and Brooke, Zane Walden and Angie, Jason Smith and Cerra; great-grandchildren, Mechelle, Randi, Dalton, Matthew Ray, Kolby, Karley, Michael, Matthew, Rachel, Rebekah, Nathan, Piper, Caleb, Sawyer, Riley, and Brinley; five great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Inez Knight, Eudora “Ruby” O’Kelly and Alfred, Christine Cortez and Mike, Frank “Bud” Butler; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
