Hilton Hiers

MOULTRIE, GA- James Hilton Hiers, 82, of Moultrie, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 21, 2023, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with the Reverend Thomas Parrish and the Reverend Ricky McLaughlin officiating.  Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45PM Friday at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.

Casketbearers will be Cody Weaver, Brandon Hiers, Blaine Hiers, Marty Hiers, Kyle Hiers, Rodney Hiers, and Dustin Hiers.

Born February 27, 1941, in Colquitt County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Roy Hiers and Levis Linnell Richardson Hiers.  Mr. Hilton retired from Universal Forrest Products in 2009 and was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.   He was a wonderful, faithful, humble man who loved the Lord and his family dearly.   Mr. Hilton enjoyed going fishing, working in his garden and he was always on the go ready to explore new places.   The family would like to give special thanks to the Colquitt Regional Hospice nurses and staff for all the care and support they gave us.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years and mother of his children, Sylvia Gay Hiers.

Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Linda Baker Cobb Hiers of Moultrie; children, Jennifer Weaver and husband Jamie of Pavo, Derrik Hiers and wife Danielle of Berlin; grandchildren, Cody Weaver and wife Tristan, Cassidy Weaver, Brandon Hiers, Blaine Hiers; siblings, Reverend Heyward Hiers and wife Mary Jean of Berlin, Huey Hiers and wife Judy of Berlin, Harold Hiers and wife Mary Evelyn of Berlin.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Chapel Cemetery Fund.
