Kenneth Thomas Hemingway

July 23, 1953 — May 5, 2022

Kenneth Thomas Hemingway, 68, of Moultrie, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Hopewell Baptist Church with Dr. Josh Purvis and Mr. Jerry Tillman officiating.   Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Friday, May 6, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel and also from 10-10:45 AM Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Hopewell Baptist Church.

Casketbearers will be Adam Duncan, Cody Pulliam, Aaron Beamon, Bo Yarborough, Chance Porter and Jonathan Roberts.

Born July 23, 1953, in Shirley, Massachusetts, he was the son Etta May Finlay Hemingway of Augusta, GA and the late Donald Thomas Hemingway.  Mr. Hemingway retired from Georgia Pacific as an Environmental Engineer.  He was a loyal member, Deacon and member of the Men’s Sunday School Class at Hopewell Baptist Church.   Mr. Hemingway enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of the local Goldwing Motorcycle Chapter.  He attended lawnmower/tractor pulls and volunteered as a firefighter for many years.    

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Janet Mallett, David Allen Hemingway.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Elaine Connell Hemingway of Moultrie; children, Jason Neil Hemingway, Nancy Marlene Hemingway and John Knox all of Moultrie; mother, Etta May Finlay Hemingway of Augusta, GA; grandchildren, Elijah Wade Hemingway, Charlotte Olivia Hemingway both of Moultrie; great-grandchild, McKinley Grace Hemingway; siblings, Mark Hemingway and wife Nancy, Douglas Hemingway and wife Michele all of Augusta, Donald Hemingway and wife Louise of Lugoff, South Carolina, Jean Myers and husband Charlie of Massachusetts; special sister-in-law, Shirley Roberts; beloved Dog, Licker.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1584 Hopewell Church Road, Moultrie, GA. 31788 and or Colquitt Regional Hospice, PO Box 3548, Moultrie, GA. 31776.
