Ralph McDaniel, Jr.

DOERUN, GA – Edward Ralph McDaniel, Jr., 72, of Doerun, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023, at Cobblestone Health and Rehabilitation.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2023, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gerald McDaniel officiating.  Interment will be in Poulan City Cemetery, Poulan, Georgia.

The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 PM Friday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Born May 28, 1950, in Pavo, Georgia, he was the son of the late Edward Ralph McDaniel, Sr. and Aquilla Touchton McDaniel.   Mr. McDaniel was a former police officer with the Colquitt County Sheriff’s, the Doerun Police, and the Moultrie Police Departments.   He was good, loving father, and grandfather, who enjoyed reading the bible, listening to gospel music and being a member of Grace Baptist Church.  He enjoyed relaxing outdoors by fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles.   

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher McDaniel.

Survivors include his children, Melissa Ann McDaniel of Doerun, GA, Julie Christi McDaniel of Phoenix, AZ, Edward Ralph McDaniel, III, of Albany, GA, Rosemary McDaniel Jones and Tracy of Sylvester, GA, Conner Franklin McDaniel and Kayla of Doerun, GA; twenty grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; siblings, Jeannie Barfield and Raye of Ft. Valley, GA, Terry Folsom and David of Surprise, AZ, Pastor Gerald McDaniel and Julie of Crawfordville, FL; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
